right this freaking second!!
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:21 pmwell, about 23 minutes ago. I gave blood to the UCLA blood & platelet center, and signed up to be a potential donor to the national marrow donor program. isn't that exciting? well, no, not really. I should have brought a book. Luckily for me, I didn't take too long... The really exciting part is my neon pink bandage, I think. The admitting nurse, I guess is what they are, was named Tad. He was nice. The nurse who actually did the drawing of the blood was named Vangie, and she was nice, too, although she went a little heavy on the iodine. The juice boxes and cookies they had weren't that great, though.... *sigh*
my only hope is that this time, they don't think i have syphilis & refuse to use my blood.
... i didn't actually have syphilis, i swear! there are these things called false positives & just in case, they throw out your blood and tell you not to donate for a year. & so i didn't.
