an excess of cold & wet humours
Feb. 10th, 2007 11:37 pmit's been a long, long week
but the point was, today when i was practising i just could not play the etude i've been working on for two weeks (i couldn't yesterday, either). i finally got too frustrated to keep trying, and so i pulled out the hindemith sonata, which i have been playing since tenth grade and which usually makes things better since i love it so much, and while i was playing the first movement, i cried my eyes out. it was so strange.
tonight was the band ball, which was fine i guess, but i wasn't really enjoying myself that much since i was all out of sorts, and my feet hurt from my favourite amazing but admittedly impractical shoes, and then all the exhaustion from the week hit me at once, so i left a little early. i think i really enjoy the band activity, the games and the marching and practise and all (and post-game parties, but that's another story), more than i enjoy just hanging out with band people. don't get me wrong, they're great people and i like them -- i'm even close friends with some of them, like gabby of course. but i sort of feel out of place at band functions that don't actually involve the activity. *shrug* also i'm not very good at the whole making new friends thing.
whatev.
the opera's last show is tomorrow. (i'm going of course.) i'll be sad when it's over; it's so damn good...
