a journal of unpunctual things
Aug. 17th, 2009 02:22 pmI actually stole that subject line, because it's been running through my head since I left for work, so I must give credit where credit is due: this comic at
vworpvworp, which is Doctor Who-related comics and stuff, the new home of the creators of
doctorwhy. Um. My geek is showing.
Anyway. My car has a new new tire on it (couldn't patch the old one -- had a hole in the side from driving about 20 ft on the flat), and I have repotted basil and a clean towel and my Hawaiian fish book for when I get my fish pictures back (tomorrow evening!). Hooray.
While we were dropping my car off at the Goodyear place, I was leaning on the counter and I looked down at the sleeve of the sweatshirt I had thrown on, and:
me: *sees bug crawling, moves to squish bug*
me: *recognises bug as flea, hesitates*
flea: *jumps away*
me: OH FUCK NO
I had a little bit of a paranoia attack. I started to feel phantom itches on my legs and scalp, despite the fact that I am apparently not allergic to fleas (just about the only thing I'm not allergic to) so their bites don't particularly itch. Anyway, when I got home I tore the sweatshirt off and threw it into the garage and took a paranoid shower. I hope I haven't carried any fleas into my apartment... especially since new kittens (I'm still playing phone tag with the woman. Gah.).
And then I had lunch with Z and was late for work.
