this is just sad

My breath catches whenever I see a skinny boy with a mop of unruly auburn hair. No matter how else they look or are dressed or how tall they are or sometimes even when their hair is in some way wrong, like the wrong colour or the wrong length. It's pathetic. It happens even in situations when there is no way it could be him -- like, on campus at ass o'clock, or going to a rehearsal when I know he has a gig elsewhere, or in a goddamn movie.

And yet I keep noticing this. And it keeps making me sad.

Lots of things are making me sad.
