Music is a universal language [....] Formerly music was chiefly confined to privileged classes in cultural centers, but today, through radio and records, music has come directly into our homes no matter how far we may live from cultural centers. This is as it should be, because music speaks to every man, woman and child -- high or low, rich or poor, happy or despairing -- who is sensitive to its deep and powerful message.

I built this cabinet this morning! It stands against the wall over the toilet and has shelves for me to put stuff on. Yay! The box estimated 45 minutes to assemble it (reccommending two people for the job)... I think it took me about two hours. In my defense, the hinges were confusing! And then there wasn't enough space for me to use the nice screwdriver when I was putting the bottom support bar (the one that goes behind the bowl) in and I had to figure out how to do it with a small screwdriver, turning it with pliers... Ehhhhhh. But the important thing is, it's done! Hooray for me. I might take a picture of it, because I am proud of myself. Tonight: curtains. (I really hope it won't be a problem if I drill holes in the wall... the building managers in the apartment below us have pretty curtains, but they're the managers. They did say we could hang things on the walls, though. So it should be fine, right? Right??) And maybe hanging a couple pictures? No, I should probably unpack more of the kitchen first...
Also!! Marie-with-the-kittens called me back this morning (she was house-sitting? or something? and so missed my calls) and I HAVE A DATE WITH THE KITTENS ON FRIDAY MORNING.
THERE WILL BE PHOTOS.
