I did it!

I made a killing on my math midterm! By which I mean I got 21/30, or 70% -- as opposed to 10%. w00t! Still not up to my usual standard, but probability and I still don't really mesh, I think. *shrug* And on the gradebook online gradebook, my professor wrote a personal comment for me: "Congratulations!" So, yeah. VICTORY IS MIIIIIINE! My final exam grade will count for 60% of my grade in the class, but... I'll pass, I think. Which is the important part. I just can't fuck up the final now. And then, no more math! which is kind of a pity since i wanted to learn multivariable and differential equations and other fun-sounding stuff... but i guess i'll live. maybe later on, one of my brilliant physicist/engineer/mathematician friends can have long talks about it with me over tea & biscuits (or wine & cheese, if you prefer) *clears throat pointedly at liz/richard/ed/will, none of whom read this*

I still haven't decided whether or not I will continue with this neuroscience minor thing, but for now the decision can be delayed, I think -- because I've been fiddling around with the schedule of classes for next quarter, and it looks like I can actually can't take any GEs at all. Well I mean. I could potentially take the second part of my physics series, which would be fine, except the only lab I could take would make it so I have NO breaks from 9-6 on Thursdays if I'm in Philharmonia, which wouldn't work since mostly lessons are on Thursdays. (Thing is if I do go on, I took 6A Honors this quarter, and I don't know if 6B Honors will be offered in spring, since the A Honors class isn't going to be offered in winter. But then, I can probably live without taking honors physics...) Also if I do go on I'll have to start the chemistry series at some point, which will be a lot of work as well, not to mention life sciences and that's just the prerequisites for the actual neuroscience classes that are required for the minor. You know, this would be a lot easier if I were actually a Life Sciences major and had to take these classes anyway.

Hmm. I seem to be losing my motivation here.

And then I can't even do my Ethnomusicology Requirement/Visual & Performing Arts Analysis GE, because of the Thursdays thing. Gods damn. It would be very relaxing, though, I guess. And I'd actually have time to practise, which would make everyone happy. (Speaking of practising, I kind of hate how I have had tons of time yesterday and today to schlep it to Schoenberg and practise, and I definitely didn't. I lose at life!) So, yeah.

And also, we beat the Arizona State Sun Devils yesterday! UCLA is going to a BOWL GAME! WOO! And we TOTALLY swept U$C's women's volleyball team Friday night, which was pretty neat. ... Hey. If we go to a bowl game, I might get to march the jazz show again! Which would kind of ROCK since I love the jazz show (waaaay more than I love Pregame), and since Shelley's going to be marching it at the $C game, the Bands of America show would have been the last time I got to march it (I didn't get to at the Cal game, and last week we did the patriotic show (meh it kind of sucks, except for the tank drill which WINS) and not the jazz show). And also, I accepted the invitation from KKPsi (the bnad frat; i got an invite from TBS, the sorority, as well, but i fit in better with the people in KKPsi), and so I have an interview with some of the brothers on Monday... If I get a bid, I'll accept it. Yes, that's right. I am seriously intending to join a fraternity. No, I see no pigs winging through the air, and I just talked to Satan: not even the slightest chill down there. Heh.

Anyway I guess I should probably stop procrastinating my lab write-ups/physics p-set/math homework now.
