Sep. 29th, 2008 09:40 amMy flatmate's top two party-throwing tips:
- Invite everyone you know, and have them invite everyone they know. Meeting people is fun!
- Focus on a silly food and build a theme around it. If your guests are eating, they are drinking less, which makes them easier to handle, and it will provide a conversation topic for people who have just met. OUR EXAMPLES: Sausages (Flatmate had a "Sausage-fest" last year -- a 5-hour cookout with tons of cylindrical meat), Dino-bites (these are dinosaur shaped chicken nuggests and they are THE BEST THING EVER. srsly.)
Seriously, we threw the best party ever on Friday night. Dinosaur-themed. It was soooo much fun!
( We seem to have gotten ourselves into an altercation with the next-door neighbours, however. )
